About Us
Karim Hassam founded Tigerstone Operating Partners to help founders and investors in high-potential companies build more valuable businesses, drawing on decades of commercial leadership in strategy and operations consulting and in running businesses, leading teams and growing partnerships for large multinational corporations.
Karim has 25+ years of commercial experience, including 12 years at Mastercard in global, North American and Asia Pacific regional leadership roles focused on B2B payments, data and value added advisory services. He was a member of Mastercard's leadership team and customer advisory board in Canada, and led the company's most strategic global client relationship and account servicing teams across 17 markets in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa while based in Singapore. Karim also played a key role in integrating a strategic acquisition that transformed the advisory business through significantly larger, longer-term and more predictable software and platform revenue.
Before Mastercard, Karim spent 16 years in management consulting with KPMG in the UK, the United States and Canada, advising clients on business process improvement, operational efficiency, merger integration and cost transformation across multiple industries including financial services, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
Karim is known for building and scaling high-performing teams across cultures, with an empowering leadership style that is customer-focused. He has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore, holds an international MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, and is based in Toronto.
